Sylvia Sylvia The sky was falling the day that we met That look in your eyes I will never forget Oh Sylvia, Sylvia The sky's not falling anymore But those dark clouds are moving in Let me show you what these arms are for There coulda been trouble Or maybe there shoulda been You turn your back on the world When the darkness is your friend Oh Sylvia, Sylvia I'm not waiting anymore And those dark clouds are moving in Let me show you what those lips are for You taste like promises Like every promise ever made Yesterday is long gone But tomorrow looks okay And history is silent On the love we coulda made The sky was falling the way that we met That first kiss I will never regret Oh Sylvia, Sylvia The sky's not falling anymore But those dark clouds are moving in Let me show you what these dreams are for Yes those dark clouds are moving in Let me show you what all this is for 02-20-2014

Walk Away 04:30
Walk Away I know that you’re no longer in love with that someone else I can tell by the way you’re fooling yourself You’re counting the days until you can leave So I’ll just hafta say it delicately I know you’re gonna walk away… So walk away with me I know you get tired of being so cold Payin’ the rent and living like a ghost The sun could be shining and how would you know if you don’t open your eyes I’m standing right here baby and I’m wearing no disguise I know you’re gonna walk away… So walk away with me I’m gonna buy you a marching band March you down the street and hold you by the hand Take off your shoes when we get there Kiss away your blues all the way up the stairs Take your photograph at midnight in the middle of the road Wearing a cowboy hat and a petticoat We’ll wake up in the morning and make a pot of coffee And I’ll pray that I’m not dreaming I know you’re gonna walk away… So walk away with me 02-15-2012

Look Up At The Moon I walked across the river last night Don’t ask me how Don’t ask me how But I still couldn’t find you Anywhere Anywhere at all Now I’m traveling from Whitehorse to Yukon On the back of a wind That could go anywhere Hoping to land somewhere I can start over Don’t ask me why You already know Just ask yourself What have I done I’ve got a heart too heavy To carry all by myself I’ve got a heart that’s beating But not for long From here I can go anywhere On the back of a wind On the back of a wind Now I’m standing on the moon Watching you Watching out for you You walk down the stairs A cigarette in your hand Cigarette in your hand You light the candles one by one And then you dance Oh, how you dance All alone in the room With just the beat of your heart To guide you You pull a book off of the shelf And then you toss it aside Like you always do You’ve got a heart too heavy To bury all by yourself You’ve got a heart that’s beating But not for anyone else And as I blow you a kiss All the candles blow out All the candles blow out All across the world I can see the look on your face As you run outside And look up at the moon 04-11-2011

Old Crow 04:32
Old Crow She had a hard hard life of her own choosing But the decisions were never that easy Dark clouds crowd her horizon Like a flock of trouble that’s escaped She can rise there Above the storm She can scare it all away I’m just an old crow I don’t scare so much these days You can’t scare me away The best part of sorrow is what she’s forgotten When she looks the other way Birds circle the sky above her Birds talk amongst themselves She can lie there With the truth Knowing she could fly away I’m just an old crow I can barely fly these days I can barely fly away Clenches her fists Shouts to the heavens All I wanna do is live Reckless endearment is All I’ve got left All I’ve got left to give She waits there For the sun to rise Is it enough to light her way I’m just an old crow And it gets darker every day Darker every day Until the sun and this old crow Both look the same 11-30-2011

Broken, Too 03:38
Broken, Too Well you didn't look at all like a modern girl With your hair piled up so high And the way you licked the whiskey off your lips  So sly I am not an honest man I won't lie to you But you know I like to keep my stories straight Oh baby are you badly broken Are you hoping, thinking that I'm broken, too That I'm broken, too Tell me baby Are you broken, too I got into some trouble a little while back And ran out of friends that I could call on But when you licked the whiskey from my lips I could tell that you've been callin' too That you were broken, too Tell me baby Are you broken, too Oh baby are you badly broken Are you hoping, thinking that I'm broken, too That I'm broken, too That I'm broken, too Tell me baby Are you broken, too 03-13-2016 9 pm

Back to You 03:47
Back To You I've been driving away from you for days Didn't stop until I hit this red light Only gonna close my eyes until the light turns green More than long enough to dream a new life The sun is high in the sky The snow is melting into clean cool water All the birds in the trees Are singing songs about your laughter And then the light turns green-- The car pulls itself to the side of the road I have no choice but to follow The moon watches as I kill the lights And chases me into what's waiting I run for cover when the clouds shut the moon's eye And all the stars fade into ghosts They mislead me with all their suggestions And their truth only leaves me cold And so I run-- I've been running back to you for days I'd chase the sun if only it would show its face I lose my way every time I hear your voice The shadows from the trees creep silently towards me 10-2008

An Ever Darkening Sky I think it might rain today But will it wash all this pain away When the clouds all roll away We will see If anything has changed You know things are going my way But then those skies all fill up with grey Above the clouds the sun still shines But you can't see its face And I can't read your mind Unless everything has changed I could open up this chest Scare these thoughts away I could tear open my heart Chase these birds away Let them beat against my ribs Until they all escape And they will blanket the sky Unless you reel them in And if the rains don't come in time It'll be an ever darkening sky I think it just might be today Been waiting all my life for this rain And when the darkness rolls away We will see We will see... 12-26-2013
